You don't have to have a student in our schools to be part of our community. With Community Groups, we've made it easier than ever for parents, alumni, volunteers, and community members to stay informed and engaged — all in one place.

Community Groups is a feature within ParentSquare, the communication platform used by Poplar Bluff School District. You can sign up for the groups that matter to you and receive updates through your preferred channel — email, text, or the ParentSquare app.

Community Groups are a new addition to our communication tools, and we're just getting started! We'll be growing and adding new groups over time, so check back as our communities expand. For now, here's what's available — we'd love for you to join us!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • It depends on which groups you join! Generally, members can expect to receive district announcements relevant to the whole community, such as community events and forums, board meeting announcements, weather-related closings and delays, and other significant district news. Each group is focused on its specific topic, so you'll only receive messages that are relevant to the groups you've chosen.

  • No. Anyone can sign up through our Community Group signup pages using just their name, email address, and phone number. If you're already a ParentSquare user — for example, as a current parent — you can join Community Groups directly within your existing account.

  • Yes! Once your account is set up, you can customize your notification settings for email, text, and app notifications. Each can be set to instant delivery or Digest mode, which bundles all messages from that day into a single notification delivered at 6 p.m.

  • By default, messages are delivered by email. You can also download the free ParentSquare app (available for Apple and Android devices) to receive app notifications, or add your phone number to your account to receive text messages. ParentSquare lets you customize how and when you receive messages from each group.

  • No, it's completely free for community members to sign up and receive messages. However, standard data and SMS rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

  • If you already have an active ParentSquare account with students enrolled in the district, you do not need to sign up for most Community Groups. Important communications such as school closings, delays, and dismissal changes are already sent directly to your registered account.

    However, you are always welcome to join groups like Alumni or Athletics and Activities to stay connected to programs and events that interest you beyond your parent account.
